Linda Caffin, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, JD

Senior HR Consultant

Linda assists HR on the Move clients with a wide range of tasks including organizational design, performance management, talent acquisition, HR operations and services, and training and leadership development.


With over 25 years of progressive experience in numerous roles leading the HR and Administration functions, Linda is a performance-driven, solutions-focused Human Resources executive who is attentive to adding value aligned to the organization’s short and long-term business strategies.


For over 16 years, Linda was the Chief Administrative Officer (“CAO”) at Carl Marks, a 95-year-old mid-market merchant bank focused on principal investing and advisory services.  As CAO, Linda oversaw all HR and administrative functions.  She solely created, developed and managed the firm’s HR function and was the Human Resources Business Partner (“HRBP”) to the various internal business affiliates. Linda strategically and operationally managed all recruiting and performance reviews, re-engineered and managed the firm’s Employee Handbook, effectuated creative cost-effective benefit strategies of value to employees, implemented an employee benefits HRIS and a recruiting applicant tracking tool, handled all policies and procedures, among many other accomplishments.  Linda oversaw the 401(k) Retirement Plan and was a member of the Fiduciary Committee, spearheaded and led the Business Continuity plan and Emergency Management Team.  Linda was also the Chief Compliance Officer for the firm’s affiliated broker-dealer group, which was engaged in the private placement of debt and equity capital.


Previously, Linda was Administration Manager at Booz Allen Hamilton, a global management consulting firm.  During her ten-year tenure Linda was responsible for HR and Administration three offices (including the firm’s commercial practice headquarters in NY which was a 500+ person office) managing a team of 6 managers and 100+ direct reports. In that role Linda was responsible for leading and managing the full HR function, as well as facilities operations, technology services and document management/production. Linda chaired and served on many local and US-wide committees responsible for performance management, developing and rewarding administrative and operational staff, enhancing employee engagement, crisis management, travel policies and technology rollouts She managed a $14M operating budget and a $2M capital budget, and served as project manager for the multiple office expansion and downsizing initiatives.


Linda is an active volunteer with New York City SHRM (“NYC SHRM”), the local chapter affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management.  As a current Board member, Linda is the Co-Vice President for the HR Annual Conference, she is a Past Co-President, and has held a multitude of other committee Chair roles. She is a recipient of the chapter’s Breiger Award, bestowed to volunteer leaders who make outstanding & notable contributions to the chapter.

Linda holds a BA in Environmental Studies from State University of New York at Albany and a JD from Potomac School of Law.  She is certified as a senior HR professional, holding SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications.  Linda additionally holds Series 7, 79, 24 and 63 FINRA certifications. Linda is a member of the American Bar Association and the Georgia State Bar Association.
